Now that the outdoor season has ended I would like to thank all the clubs who worked hard to ensure that bowlers had such a good day at their Gala days. I enjoyed every one that I participated in. THANKS

I will try to keep this blog going during the winter months by adding pics from the indoor bowls so if you have any pictures from these matches, short mat included, please e-mail me and I will gladly include.

The Brigg Bowls Club Calendar is ready . There is one up in the pavilion. It contains pictures I have taken during the last season and earlier. I'm sorry if everyone is not included as when I took the pictures I hadn't a calendar in mind, I will know for the next one, something different anyway. The calendar starts April 2010 to March 2011 inclusive. I hope you will buy one. The fixtures are included. I have kept the cost down at £2. This is a test, If members like this idea I will do one ready for every season. If you would like to order one please let me know. There will be some at the pre season meeting on the 30th March but best to order one. You can order one by clicking on the "comment" below. For the easiest you can sign in as anonymous on the drop down but please put your name. Or you can e-mail me or phone 01652 657386. I will deliver or post if you wish. THE NEIL MARLAND TROPHY took place today the 9th August. It was a lovely sunny day and all went well. Four teams from Rose Leisure came and we would like to thank them for a lovely day, and it's always a pleasure to play bowls with them and enjoy their company. The winners of the Rose Leisure trophies were R WRIGHT, E UNDERWOOD and R WOOLLARD. IVOR PARKER, MAUREEN DAVIES and NORMAN BAXTER was the winning team from Brigg who gained three wins and the highest shot difference. At the Special Olympics recently held in Leicester, Andrew Smith had an excellent achievement of winning two gold medals in the bowls competitions.
In the male singles, he won the final by 7 shots to 3.
In the male pairs, with his partner David Brooke from Keighley, he won the final by 11 shots to 3.
